5. What if I forget to take a light blue-green pill?

6. What should I do if I miss 2 light blue-green pills?
If you miss 2 light blue-green pills, take 2 pills on the day you remember. Take 2 pills the next day. Then take 1 pill a day until you finish your pack. You must use another method of birth control (such as condoms or spermicide) as a backup for 7 days after you restart your pills.

8. What are the side effects with SEASONIQUE®?
Side effects associated with SEASONIQUE® are similar to those of other birth control pills. Most side effects of the Pill are not serious. The most common are nausea, vomiting, bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods, weight gain, breast tenderness, and difficulty wearing contact lenses. Some of these side effects, especially nausea and vomiting, may subside within the first 3 months of use.

9. Does the Pill cause weight gain?
A recent review of clinical studies involving different birth control pills showed no proof that birth control pills actually cause an increase in weight. Remember, every woman is different. Change in weight usually depends on eating and exercise habits.

10. Can I smoke while taking SEASONIQUE®?
Women who use birth control pills should not smoke. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects from birth control pill use. This risk increases with age and with heavy smoking (15 or more cigarettes per day) and is quite marked in women over 35 years of age.

11. Will SEASONIQUE® cost more than a typical monthly birth control pill?
It largely depends on your individual insurance and co-pay. Just be aware that while you'll pay for 3 months of pills at a time, you'll only have to refill your prescription 4 times a year.

12. Will using SEASONIQUE® affect my chances of getting pregnant when I'm ready?
Birth control pills, including SEASONIQUE®, should not affect your ability to become pregnant in the future. Birth control pills are reversible. Once you stop taking them, you should start ovulating. There may be some delay in getting pregnant after taking any birth control pill, including SEASONIQUE®. This is especially true if your periods were irregular before using a birth control pill.

13. Does the Pill offer any health benefits in addition to preventing pregnancy?
All birth control pills are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy but may have other benefits. For example, with long-term use, birth control pills may decrease the incidence of iron-deficiency anemia, reduce the risk of developing cancers of the ovaries and the lining of the uterus, and reduce the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease. In addition, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, and noncancerous lumps or cysts of the breast may occur less frequently. Like other birth control pills, SEASONIQUE® has serious risks, which can be life threatening, including blood clots, stroke, and heart attack and are increased if you smoke cigarettes.
